It will allow you to cook better and faster after cleaning the gas grill.

Getting ready to start another season of backyard cookouts, it is the perfect time to clean your gas grill. First of all, you need to remove all the leftover food debris and grease from the grates of the gas grill. To do so, turn the grill on full temperature, wait for 30 minutes and remove them with a wire brush.

Clean Grill Functions Better

You should clean your gas grill annually or semiannually. It depends on how much you make grills on it. The more frequently you use it for making grills, the more you need to clean the grill, especially the grates of it. Otherwise, you might experience flare and burnt-out food debris on the cooking grates.

If you want to avoid unwanted flare-ups or strange smells coming from your grill, you should clean it on a regular basis. It prevents grease from sticking on your gas grill so that you can cook more efficiently and quickly. Also, you have to ensure that gas can flow easily for better cooking experience.

Things You Need To Clean A Gas Grill

Before you jump to clean your gas grill, it should be wise to keep the following things at hand. It will save your time and effort. Here are the things you should consider to bring first. You can get them all going online or to the nearest hardware store. But nothing can be as effective as a handheld wire brush, a five gallon bucket, wire bottle brush and some elbow grease.

Burn the leftover foods and grease

One of the  most convenient ways to remove the leftover food from the grates is to burn them out. To do so, you need to turn the grill on and wait for at least half an hour. Also, make sure you have turned the grill to the highest temperature. It will start burning the food debris and grease of the meat on the grates.

Once you are done with burning them out. It should be your time to remove them by the wire brush. Before you start the process, you should dip the wire brush into the bucket that has a mixture of detergent, soap and water.

Soak the grates

When you are done with using the wire brush to remove the leftover foods, you should soak the grates of the gas grill into the bucket. You need to do it so that the grates can cool down and you can use a soft rubbing cloth to remove the remnants from the grates. You have to allow a few minutes or more to completely cool the grates down before you start wiping out the food debris.

Use Your Vacuum Cleaner

The cleaning process of your gas grill does not end with just cleaning the grates only. You have to clean the entire gas grill both inside and outside so that it looks nice and shiny. To clean the grates and burners of the gas grill, you must remove them one by one, right? And, hopefully you have done the same thing, too.

Now, it is time for the inside of the gas grill to clean. Make sure you have also disconnected the propane tank and replaced it with an empty bucket underneath. The bucket will catch the soapy water and flushes out debris from the grill. In this case, you can also use a plastic knife to scrape off anything that is very obstinate.

Now, you have done almost everything to clean your gas grill. Wait! You have soaked the grates and panels of the gas grill into the soapy water into a bucket, right? You should take them out from the bucket as they have been soaked properly.

With the wire brush, you need to scrub them properly so that there is no grease, food debris or clutters left on the grates and panels. If you come across the stubborn gunk, you can use some white vinegar and baking soda to remove them. Apply the mixture and wait for a while and start scrubbing in the same way. You will find the grates and panels clean and maybe, shiny.

Don’t finish your cleaning process here because you should consider the outside of the grill, too. To make the body of the grill shiny, you can use a soft cloth, sponge or microfibre towel and start wiping down. After doing so, allow some time to dry the surface and you are done.
